From Kansas Youth Soccer Association Rules

3.16. LOANED/GUEST PLAYERS. Every KSYSA registered player has the right to participate as a loan/guest player for other affiliated teams during non-league play, unless participation as a loan/guest player will: (1) result in the player engaging in a sanctioned event with the host team on the same day as a sanctioned event is scheduled with the player’s rostered team; (2) require the player to miss a sanctioned event with the player’s rostered team due to travel or a similar event; or, (3) the player is serving a suspension.

Approved Process for Requesting Guest Players

  1. Requesting team representative contacts coach or manager of the team the player is rostered to.  KYSA strongly recommends this request be in written form to avoid future misunderstandings.  Team officials may be making arrangements for the team and haven’t notified all the players yet.
  1. Coach or manager of the team the player is rostered to checks team schedule for possible conflict.
    1. If the team is scheduled for a sanctioned event on the same dates as the

requested guest player dates, the requesting coach is advised in writing

that the team cannot provide a guest player.  The process ends here.

OR

    1. If the team has no conflict for the requested dates, the player is contacted

by the coach or manager of the team the player is rostered to and asked if

the player is interested in the guest playing opportunity.  Contact info provided at

registration is confidential unless the parent gives permission for it to be released.

  1. If the player is busy on the requested dates or not interested, the coach or manager

contacts the requesting team representative and tells him/her that the player is not

available.  The process ends.  This avoids harassment by the representative wanting to borrow the player if the player simply doesn’t want to play with that team for personal reasons.

                                          OR

If the player is interested, the coach or manager provides written permission for the requesting team representative to contact the player with details of the guest playing opportunity.  Soccer Forces, like many other soccer groups & teams, now requires that all or a majority of the coaches or manager provide written permission.  This avoids possible misunderstanding among the team officials.

  1. The requesting team fills out a guest playing form and provides it to the tournament.  The team that the player is currently rostered to provides the player card, and a copy of the Medical Release Form to the requesting team representative.  The requesting team representative is then responsible for returning the player’s card when the event is over.

Team representatives are prohibited by KYSA rules from recruiting guest players before, during, or after the guest playing event.

This process is the same for a team asking to double roster a player.

Note: the player and the player’s parents enter the discussion AFTER the 2 coaches have talked, not before!!

If a player is seeking a guest playing opportunity or double rostering the same process applies.
